The Annual week-long College Festival “FUSION 2019” had kicked off on 03.06.2019 and the curtains fell with the Grand Finale that was held on 10.06.2019. During this week-long Festival, different competitions were held wherein a large number of students, teachers and administrative staff had actively participated. Under the smooth supervision of the Cultural Committee, different events like Group Dance, Solo Dance, Solo Song, Fashion Parade and Talent Hunt were conducted and in all these competitions the students came up with brilliant performances. The judges of the events, namely Ms. D. Tamang, Mr. P. Sherpa, Dr. Jayant and Dr. Surendra Kumar from Sikkim University had expressed their satisfaction over the students enthusiasm, participation and the level of performance of the students.
Under the Literary Section too, competitions like Painting, Photography, Debate, Essay-writing, Extempore Speech and Poetry were held amongst the students.The College Sports Committee had also organized a number of events both for boys andgirls during the week-long festival. Inter-departmental football tournament, Inter-departmentalVolleyball Tournament, Inter-Departmental Table Tennis Tournament, Inter-Departmental Chess competition Inter-Departmental Arm-Wrestling Competition, Inter-Departmental Badminton competition and staff Open Badminton Tournament were some of the major events organized bythe Sports Committee of the College.
The Grand Finale of the College Fest was held on 10th June’2019. Hon’ble HRD Minister Shri K.N. Lepcha had graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri G.P. Upadhyay, Additiona Chief Secretary was the Guest of Honour and Shri D. Pradhan Director, HRDD as well as Ms. S. Mukhia. Joint Secretary, HRDD were also present on the occasion. The certificates and trophies were distributed by the Hon’ble Chief Guest to the winners and participants of the different competitions.
The Physical Education Department was adjudged the “Best Department” in the Fest based on their overall performance in all the events. Two employees from the Administrative Staff, namely, Mrs. Renuka Chettri and Mr. Khusen Mohora were also felicitated on the occasion for their dedicated and sincere service to the Institution.
